Job Summary:
We are looking for an ITAM (SAM+HAM) Lead / Consultant who Own end-to-end Software Asset Management across the enterprise—governance, processes, tooling (ServiceNow SAM Pro), and audit defense. Drive Effective License Position (ELP) preparation, deployment discovery & categorization, publisher onboarding, and internal/external audit support. Ensure license compliance, cost optimization, and risk mitigation at scale.
Own the hardware asset lifecycle for servers, co-worker devices (endpoints), network devices, and hardware components, ensuring accurate baselines, lifecycle controls, financial accountability, and audit readiness. Lead process design and rollout for Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) across Server/Network, integrated with CMDB and discovery. Enable audit defense and operational excellence using ServiceNow HAM Pro.

Role Requirements:
1. ITAM/SAM Process Setup & Governance
o Design and roll out enterprise SAM operating model (RACI, policies, standards, controls)
o Establish intake workflows for software requests, CMDB/Discovery integrations, license entitlements ingestion, and lifecycle governance (procure-to-retire)
o Define and maintain SAM KPIs/SLAs; implement continuous improvement framework
o Align with ISO 19770, ITIL 4, security, procurement, finance, and audit requirements
2. Publisher Onboarding & License Model Mastery (Mandatory)
o Lead onboarding for key publishers/products including (but not limited to): Oracle, SAP, Basware Corporation, Anana/Genesys, OpenText, McAfee,
Symantec, Cisco Systems, DocuSign, Celonis, Kronos (UKG), PTC Software, Infor, TIBCO Software, Auth0, Google, Webex, Rapid7, ControlUp, Quest Software
o Configure license metrics and normalize SKUs (e.g., processor/core-based, user-based, device-based, subscription, SaaS seats/MAUs).
o Implement reconciliations, rights consumption rules, and downgrade/upgrade rights
o Maintain proof of entitlement (PoE), contracts, and support/maintenance alignment
3. Effective License Position (ELP) Preparation (Mandatory)
o Gather entitlements, deployments, and usage data across on-prem, cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), and VDI
o Build ELPs per publisher: true-up risk, shortfalls, compliance gaps, and optimization opportunities
o Present findings to leadership; drive remediation plans (harvesting, re-harvesting, subscription right-sizing, shelfware reduction, BYOL in cloud).
4. Deployment Discovery & Categorization (Asset Baselining)
o Implement and tune discovery (ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM/MECM, Jamf, Tanium, etc.)
o Normalize discovered software (recognition rules, signatures, versions/editions)
o Categorize deployments by business service, environment, and criticality to derive accurate consumption
5. Audit Defense & Assurance
o Lead internal and external SAM audits—data room management, evidence trails, license interpretations, and ELP defense.
o Respond to vendor audits (e.g., Oracle LMS, SAP, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) and coordinate legal/procurement engagement.
o Implement preventative controls, audit playbooks, and continuous readiness.
6. ServiceNow SAM Pro Ownership
o Administer SAM Pro: plugin enablement, data model, normalization, content library, reclamation rules, reconciliation jobs, and remediation workflows
o Integrate with Procurement, CMDB, Discovery, Cloud Management, and Contract modules
o Build dashboards (license position, spend, risk, harvestable software, optimization backlog)
7. Baseline Hardware Assets (Servers, Co-Worker & Network Devices, Components)
o Establish authoritative inventory and baseline attributes (owner, location, model, serial, warranty, cost center, business service)
o Reconcile discovered CIs with asset records; ensure golden source alignment (CMDB ↔ HAM)
o Track spares, components (memory, disks, NICs), peripherals, and data center assets (PDUs, racks if in scope)
8. Process Design & Rollout – Asset Lifecycle Management (Server/Network)
o Define and implement end-to-end lifecycle processes: request, procurement, receipt, stockroom, build/config, deployment, move/add/change, maintenance, refresh, retirement, and secure disposal (including data sanitization and certificates of destruction)
o Map controls to ITIL/ISO 19770 governance; implement RACI and segregation of duties
o Align with change/CM processes for servers and network (CI relationships, ownership, approvals, dependency mapping)
9. Financial & Contract Governance
o Manage asset cost, depreciation, lease/rental, warranty, and support contracts.
o Enable showback/chargeback to business units, track refresh cycles and TCO.
10. Audit Support (Internal/External) – Server/Network
o Provide internal/external HAM audit support: evidence packs, chain-of-custody, inventory counts, stockroom reconciliation, and disposal proof.
o Implement periodic physical verification, barcode/RFID practices, and exception management.
11. ServiceNow HAM Pro Ownership
o Configure HAM Pro: asset models, stockrooms, receiving, barcoding, transfers, asset states, and automation policies.
o Integrate with Procurement, CMDB, Discovery, and vendor tools (ILO/iDRAC, SNMP, NCM for network, MECM/Jamf/Intune for endpoints).
o Build dashboards for lifecycle KPIs, refresh backlog, ghost/orphan assets, and compliance exceptions.
12. Operations Excellence & Data Quality
o Improve discovery coverage for servers/network devices; standardize model normalization.
o Maintain data quality rules and reconcile variances (e.g., CI without asset, asset without CI, mismatched serials).
o Define and monitor KPIs; run quarterly true-up of inventory and refresh plans.
13. Stakeholder Management & Enablement
o Partner with Procurement, Finance, Security, Infra, App Owners, and Legal.
o Run training/awareness for requesters, approvers, and license custodians.
o Provide executive-ready reporting and quarterly compliance checkpoints.

Other Responsibilities:
*Lead or participate in practice development and COE activities which support business development, sales activities, proposal response and internal capability development.
*Participate and work with consulting offering lead to design and finalize GTM solutions for Salesforce.
*Contribute to POV and thought leadership.

Role Requirement and Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
*8–12+ years in SAM/ITAM; 3–5+ years hands-on with ServiceNow SAM Pro and HAM Pro
*Strong experience building ELPs and handling vendor audits (2–3 major publishers minimum).
8Expertise in license models: user/processor/core/instance, SaaS, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), cloud licensing (AWS/Azure), RDS/Citrix, BYOL.
*Proficiency with discovery tools (ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM/MECM, Tanium, Flexera discovery agents, etc.) and data normalization.
*Strong understanding of CMDB relationships, discovery methods (agent/agentless/SNMP), and server/network lifecycles.
*Experience with physical verification, stockroom management, and secure disposal.
*Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and solid presentation skills for leading workshops.
*Flexibility, adaptability, and process improvement approach.
*Being aware of current trends and technical advancements.
*Time management skills are a must as well as the ability to be flexible and creative.
*Good to have Knowledge on domain like consumer goods, retail or logistics.

Preferred Qualifications:
*ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SAM, HAM, ITAM
*Certifications: CSAM (IAITAM), Microsoft/SAP/Oracle licensing accreditations, ITIL 4 Foundation.
*Experience with FinOps (cost showback/chargeback), contract negotiations, and true-ups.
*Exposure to complex architectures: clusters, non-prod exemptions, DR, multiplexing, container/K8s usage, SaaS API data ingestion.
*ITIL 4 Foundation; IAITAM CHAMP or equivalent.
*Familiarity with data center ops, network inventory, RFID/barcoding, and Intune/Autopilot/MECM for endpoint lifecycle.
